Bilingual Teacher Position 

New Horizons Cooperative Preschool is looking for a full-time bilingual early childhood education (ECE) teacher to join our team of teachers.

We are looking for a candidate who is bilingual Spanish/English with preference for a native Spanish-speaker to teach at our bilingual, play-based, cooperative preschool. Our ideal candidate is community-minded, interested in fostering cross-cultural and cross-linguistic connections, able to collaborate well with other teachers, creative, and approaches education from a Constructivist, child-lead perspective.

 The position is full-time (8:00 am- 4:15 pm), teaching 3 part-time classes. Each of our three classes (MWF morning, T-Th morning, and T-F afternoon) has a maximum of sixteen 3-6 year old students taught by 3 bilingual teachers (50% of children speak Spanish as their first or only language). This position will work with our collaborative team with leadership from our director. Our seasonal curriculum is integrated into all aspects of the school, from the literacy session in the morning, to circle time, to small group activities. Though we use the curriculum as a jumping off point, we also allow flexibility for integrating student ideas and interests.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Bilingual/bi-literate (English/Spanish)

Early childhood education experience

Positive and flexible - able to work in a team teaching environment

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD assessments

Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualified

SALARY + ANNUAL SCHEDULE

This position is full time with an annual salary range of $38,000 - $45,000, depending on experience.  Our benefit package includes a monthly contribution of $100 paid into a retirement account, $300 stipend for health coverage every month, and approximately 10 weeks off per year.  During the school year (September - May), the hours are 8:30 - 4:15 Monday through Friday.  During the summer, the position includes a 6-week morning summer school in June and July.  In August, teachers prepare for the school year, conduct family visits, and host orientations for families.  Start date is August 15, 2021.
